Message from Ana Popovici, Executive Director Children’s Services:

Wandsworth is not just a place I work; it’s a vibrant community that I deeply love. Here, in the heart of one of the world’s most amazing capitals, we're committed to fostering kindness, compassion, and community spirit in everything we do.

Reporting to the Director of Business and Resources, your role will be key as you will manage and lead a high performing team of policy, project and improvement and executive support officers that support the development, delivery, and implementation of directorate strategies.

About the role

Children’s and Family’s needs are ever changing. Your role will be crucial to ensure that our services are adapting and evolving to meet this challenge.

You will lead the Policy, Project and Improvement team to provide the essential creative and delivery capacity to help services meet their transformational requirements while ensuring our executive support teams are the enablers they need to be.

Relationships are at the heart of how we work and achieve excellence together. You and the entire team must be the optime of connection, embedded and working as one with services.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A policy, commissioning and project management type background, combined with a track record of delivery of transformation projects, would form the foundation of the role.
  • Persistence and tenacity for achieving goals is crucial as the path to success and outcomes is often challenging and requires a level of resilience and resolve to drive to conclusion.
  • Brilliant verbal and written communication skills are a must, as you will be required to write and convey information clearly and professionally to a diverse range of audiences.
  • Associated project management qualifications would be a definite bonus.
  • Your formidable IT skills and enthusiasm for embracing new technologies will support our business needs effectively.
  • We’re passionate about promoting diversity and inclusivity, so your respectful interactions across various communities will be valued.

If you meet the above criteria and want to make an impact on the services delivered to children and their families in Wandsworth, we invite you to apply for this opportunity.
