The London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth present a unique opportunity to be part of a team who work together in a ground-breaking shared staffing structure across both boroughs.

We are looking to recruit x2 positions. x1 full time (36 hours per week) permanent role and x1 part time (18 hours per week) fixed term contract position.

About the service

The Schools Financial Advisory Service main goal is to provide advice and support to Headteachers, Bursars, Finance Officers and School Governors on all aspects of Financial Management.

About the team

The successful candidate will be joining a diverse school support team that delivers exceptional financial advice, support and services across our schools. The team is very supportive and work in partnership with the borough’s schools providing all aspects of Financial Management.

You will be based at Wandsworth Town Hall but visiting schools across the Borough during weekdays.

About the role

We are currently looking for a Financial Adviser to join our team and provide high quality, strategic, financial management advice and support to a group of schools in the Borough. Duties will also include providing a Bursary service to schools requiring cover for short term vacancies or sickness absence.

You must have previous experience of working in this type of role in a school and be willing to work in various locations, initially within the Borough as demand dictates. Knowledge and experience of not only school financial procedures and legislation, but also school personnel, premises and administrative policies is essential.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills, be highly numerate and be able to effectively prioritise and organise your own workload. IT skills in Excel, Word & Outlook are essential, including proven ability to design and interpret complex spread sheets, together with a working knowledge of the SIMS FMS financial package or equivalent.

Attendance at evening Governing Body committee meetings may be required. As a committed team member, you will make a positive contribution to maintaining the high standard and reputation of the service.
