The role

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth are seeking to recruit qualified bikeability cycle trainers on casual contracts.

About the opportunity:

We are seeking enthusiastic cyclists to join the Road Safety Team on a casual contract, to help increase the number of children and adults trained, to cycle safely. You need to be a confident cyclist and happy to work in all weathers.

You will be responsible for delivering the national Bikeability cycle training scheme on an ad-hoc basis to adults, families and children during, daytimes, evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, friendly team and will also assist with campaigns and projects which aim to raise the profile of cycling amongst local and school communities. 

About you:

This position would best suit a candidate who is a competent cyclist, driven and passionate about increasing the level of cycling in the area and working with and developing young people. The successful candidate will possess the knowledge and experience to work independently and follow programmes or lesson plans. Have knowledge and experience of delivering Cycle and Road Safety initiatives, or have experience coaching cycling or other sports.

You will deliver training to adults, children and families, throughout the year, including some evenings and weekends. You will also be expected to promote cycle training to groups and individuals.
