We have an exciting full time opportunity to join our Children’s Services Transactional Finance team supporting Children’s Services and providing the right candidate with the opportunity to diversify their local government experience.

About the role

As Deputy Finance Manager, you will report to the Finance Manager for the Transactional Team – deputising for them when necessary. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your people management skills, as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders. This is an exciting time to join a highly motivated team, which is committed to achieving the visions set for Wandsworth Council. 

For this role, you will need to ideally have a background in Children’s Social Care and/or Early Help and an ability to undertake financial assessments, manage the departments debt and the payments function.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your CV and personal statement (no longer than two sides of A4) will clearly evidence:

  • You will have a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with customers, other departmental teams, and key stakeholders across the organisation. 
  • The environment is fast paced, with tight deadlines therefore you will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.
